Break out the black gear.

On Saturday, November 7, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers host Old Dominion at Brooks Stadium in Conway.

The stadium sits just inland from the Grand Strand.

Additionally, Coastal calls it one of the most anticipated games of the season.

It also brings together Homecoming, a stadium-wide Black Out, and a big Sun Belt matchup in one afternoon.

Why This Game Is a Big One

Homecoming brings alumni and fans back to Conway, and the Black Out turns Brooks Stadium into a sea of black.

The day also recognizes local educators and celebrates Coastal Carolina’s commitment to community service.

Additionally, adding a conference opponent creates a game worth planning a weekend around.

A Rivalry With Recent Fireworks

Old Dominion and Coastal have traded big results at Brooks Stadium in this game. Additionally, The Monarchs won 49-21 in Conway in 2022, and Coastal answered with a 45-37 win in Conway in 2024. Both teams compete in the Sun Belt Conference, so this one counts in the standings.

Game Day Tips

  • Wear black. It’s a Black Out game, and the stadium will look the part.
  • Check the kickoff time. It hadn’t been announced when we wrote this, so confirm it on the official schedule before you plan your day.
  • Plan parking. See Coastal football parking information before you leave.
  • Review the clear bag policy. The stadium’s clear bag policy applies on game day.
  • Dress in layers. Early November afternoons can start warm and cool off quickly.

Turn Game Day Into a Beach Weekend

Conway is a short drive from the coast, which makes the Grand Strand a great home base for game weekend. A rental gives your group room to spread out, a kitchen for a pre-game meal, and a place to relax after the final whistle. Fans coming from out of town can also add a beach day on either side of the game.

Can’t Make Nov. 7?

Coastal also hosts Arkansas State at Brooks Stadium on Saturday, November 14, for Senior Day and Salute to Service, when the team honors its senior class along with military members and first responders. The same code works for that weekend.
