Every October, the parking lots at Broadway at the Beach fill with polished chrome, custom paint, and engines worth hearing in person.

Cruising’ the Beach is a three-day car show open to all cars and trucks, all years, makes, and models, so there’s something for just about every kind of gearhead.

What to Expect

The show takes over the Broadway at the Beach lots with vehicles ranging from vintage cruisers and muscle cars to modern builds and custom trucks. Vendors set up on site selling parts, clothing, memorabilia, food, and drinks. You can browse between conversations with the owners.

The show is judged, with Top 100 awards and a one-of-a-kind Best of Show prize: the Top Gun Surfboard. A separate C-10s at the Beach gathering runs alongside the main show, with its own judging and awards.

Why Broadway at the Beach Works So Well

Most car shows end when you leave the lot. This one doesn’t. Broadway at the Beach is already an entertainment district, so the rest of the day is built in. Between car lots you can grab a meal, walk the lakefront, or head inside to Ripley’s Aquarium, WonderWorks, or Hollywood Wax Museum if you need a break from the sun. Our rainy day guide covers more indoor options nearby.

Tips for Show Weekend

  • Go early. Mornings are cooler, the lots are less crowded, and the best photos come before midday glare.
  • Wear comfortable shoes. You’ll be walking on pavement for hours.
  • Bring sun protection and water. There’s not much shade out in the lots.
  • Bring a little cash. Some vendors, especially on the swap meet side, may prefer it.
  • Check the official listing. Admission details and any schedule changes are posted on the official event page.

Turn Show Weekend Into a Getaway

Mid-October is one of the nicest times on the Grand Strand: warm days, cooler evenings, and thinner crowds than summer. Car shows are a natural fit for a group trip, whether you’re bringing a car, bringing friends, or just coming along for the weekend. A rental with a full kitchen and space for the whole crew beats juggling hotel rooms, and having parking at your door matters when the show lots are busy.
