Myrtle Beach Vacation Rental FAQ: 6 Things to Know

Every Myrtle Stays vacation rental provides essential linens, bath towels, and a fully stocked kitchen for basic meal preparation. Guests enjoy high-speed WiFi, keyless entry for seamless check-in, and a starter kit of toiletries. Parking varies by property, but most offer dedicated spaces or passes for a stress-free coastal getaway.

What is included in my Myrtle Stays kitchen?

If you are dreaming of whipping up a five-course gourmet meal while the sun sets over the Atlantic, you are in the right place—mostly. We provide the stage; you bring the talent. Every Myrtle Stays kitchen is equipped with the foundational tools you need to avoid starving. This means you will find a refrigerator, stove, oven, and microwave. We also stock our cabinets with a set of pots and pans, baking sheets, and enough plates and cutlery for the maximum number of guests your unit can hold.

We also provide the essentials for your morning caffeine fix. Most of our units feature standard drip coffee makers, though some higher-end spots might have a Keurig—it is always a good idea to check your specific property listing or our FAQ Page if you have strong feelings about pods versus grounds. However, we do not stock the pantry with food items. While we would love to leave you a secret stash of gourmet spices and high-end olive oil, health safety regulations (and the fact that everyone has a different favorite hot sauce) mean we keep it simple.

We do provide a "starter kit" to get you through the first night or two. This includes a roll of paper towels, some dish soap, and a few trash bags. If you are planning on frying up a feast every night, you will likely need to make a trip to the local grocery store for refills and your favorite seasonings.

Your Essential Linen and Towel Guide

There is nothing worse than arriving at a beach house and realizing you forgot to pack sheets. At Myrtle Stays, we think that is a ridiculous thing to ask of a vacationer. That is why all of our rentals come with beds fully made and ready for you to dive into after a long drive. We provide high-quality sheets, pillowcases, and comfortable bedspreads or quilts. You will also find a set of bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths waiting in the bathrooms.

However—and this is a big one—our towels are very fond of the bathroom and very afraid of the sand. We kindly ask that you do not take our fluffy white bath towels down to the ocean. They just aren't built for that lifestyle. You will need to pack your own beach towels for your sandy adventures.

Our linen service includes:

  • Freshly laundered bed sheets and pillowcases
  • One set of bath towels per guest
  • Hand towels and washcloths in each bathroom
  • Professional cleaning between every stay
  • Extra pillows and blankets in closets

If you find yourself in a laundry emergency, most of our properties include a washer and dryer right in the unit or within the building complex. We provide a small starter amount of laundry detergent, but for a week-long stay with messy kids, you’ll definitely want to add detergent to your shopping list. For more details on property-specific laundry setups, head back to our Home page to browse individual unit descriptions.

How does the check-in and checkout process work?

We live in the future, and we think your check-in process should too. Gone are the days of driving across town to a dark office to pick up a physical key from a lockbox that hasn’t been cleaned since the 90s. Myrtle Stays uses a secure, keyless entry system. A few days before your arrival, we will send you a unique digital code that is valid for the duration of your stay.

Check-in is at 4:00 PM. We know you are excited to get your toes in the sand, but our cleaning crews are like ninjas—they need every minute of that window to ensure your rental is spotless. If the unit happens to be ready early, we will send you a text to let you know. Until then, feel free to grab a po-boy or a cold drink at one of the local boardwalk spots.

Checkout is at 10:00 AM. We know, we know—nobody likes a 10:00 AM alarm on vacation. But to keep our high standards of cleanliness for the next guest, we have to stick to this schedule. The checkout process is simple:

  • Load and start the dishwasher
  • Strip any used beds (if requested in your house manual)
  • Take out the trash to the designated bins
  • Ensure all windows and doors are locked
  • Double-check for your favorite charger or flip-flops

Parking Logistics and Vehicle Limits

Parking in Myrtle Beach can be a bit like a game of Tetris, especially during the peak summer months. Every property in our portfolio has its own unique parking situation. Some of our oceanfront condos offer one or two parking passes for a secure garage, while our standalone beach houses might have a private driveway that fits several vehicles.

It is vital to check the parking limits for your specific rental before you show up with a caravan of three SUVs. Most HOA regulations in the area are quite strict about the number of vehicles allowed. Additionally, many complexes do not allow motorcycles, trailers, or oversized RVs. If you are planning on bringing your prized Harley or a boat, please Contact Us beforehand so we can help you find a property that accommodates your needs.

If you find yourself with more cars than passes, there are several public parking lots nearby that offer daily or weekly rates. We recommend carpooling whenever possible—it’s better for the environment and much better for your sanity when trying to find a spot near the pier for dinner. Always make sure your parking pass is clearly visible on your dashboard; the local towing companies are very efficient, and we’d hate for your vacation budget to go toward a retrieval fee!

Is there high-speed WiFi in every rental?

In this day and age, asking if there is WiFi is like asking if there is indoor plumbing. Yes, we have it, and yes, it’s fast. We understand that some of you are 'work-from-beach' warriors who need to attend Zoom calls between tanning sessions, or you have kids who will stage a mutiny if they can’t stream their favorite shows.

Every Myrtle Stays property is equipped with high-speed internet. You will find the network name and password in your welcome email and usually on a handy little sign inside the rental. While we strive for 100% uptime, remember that coastal weather can occasionally be a bit dramatic. If a thunderstorm knocks out a router, our local team is on standby to get you back online as quickly as possible.

Amenities and Extra Perks

Beyond the basics, our rentals are designed to be your home away from home. Depending on the property you choose, you might have access to a variety of shared or private amenities. Many of our condo complexes feature indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, and fitness centers. Some even have lazy rivers—the ultimate peak of human relaxation technology.

When browsing our Blog for area guides, you will see that location is everything. Some of our properties are literally steps from the beach, meaning you have a private boardwalk to the sand. Others might be a block or two back, offering a bit more quiet and privacy while still keeping the ocean within walking distance.

Typical amenities include:

  • On-site swimming pools and hot tubs
  • Private balconies with ocean or city views
  • Flat-screen smart TVs in living areas
  • Central air conditioning (a Southern necessity)
  • Proximity to top Myrtle Beach attractions

What should I pack for my Myrtle Beach trip?

Even though we provide the essentials, there are a few things you should definitely throw in your suitcase to ensure maximum fun. Think of these as the 'fun extras' that turn a good trip into a legendary one. First on the list: sunscreen. The South Carolina sun does not play games.

Items you should bring:

  • Beach towels and a beach bag
  • Beach chairs and umbrellas (though many local shops rent these)
  • Your favorite coffee pods or gourmet snacks
  • Personal toiletries (we provide a starter set, but you’ll want your favorites)
  • A reusable water bottle to stay hydrated
